1. Make your own meals from fresh local ingredients rather than eating packaged or processed foods that come in a box, can, bag or carton. The best fast weight loss diets will avoid processed foods as they have little nutritional value and contain lots of salt and sugar which make us want to eat more.

2. Write down everything that you eat or drink which contain calories. You don’t have to actually count every calorie because writing them down will help you to see which high calorie foods are stopping your fast weight loss plan.

3. Every meal should include at least two portions of vegetables (but not potatoes). As an alternative, have a large salad with low fat dressing with your meal. To lower your food cravings, eat more green, leafy and fresh vegetables as these will help you to feel full and satisfy your body’s need for vitamins and minerals.

4. Reduce the amount of fat you consume by half. It’s not difficult to do this if you’re not eating packaged foods any more. Measure the oil that you use for cooking and only use half as much. Spread butter very thinly and swap to low fat milk. Remove the visible fat off meat before cooking and don’t eat the skin.

5. Instead of eating unhealthy desserts, opt for fresh fruit like grapes, cherries, berries, apples, mangoes and bananas. Chopping them up and mixing them into a low fat sugar-free yoghurt is tasty way to enjoy these fruits.

6. If you want really fast weight loss avoid sugary-sweet treats or have no more than three in a week. You may find this difficult at first if you have a bit of a sweet tooth. However, you’ll soon start to enjoy the sweetness in fruits and vegetables more, and fast weight loss will be your incentive.

7. For a great snack, try grated carrot. Grated carrot takes longer to eat than a whole carrot and because of this, it’s way more satisfying. You can mix in a chopped apple or tomato for extra flavour.

8. When eating, put down your fork between bites and chew your food slowly. Chewing will make you feel more satisfied with your meal. Eat brown rice instead of white and whole fruit instead of juice. Adding pieces of whole foods in your soup will provide extra fibre to fill you up and this will help the body to remove waste.

9. Plan your food shopping and make a list of what you will need, then keep to it. Never go shopping for food when you are hungry or another option is to order your shopping online and have it delivered. These fast weight loss plans will make losing weight easier.

10. Don’t eat while doing something else at the same time like watching TV, driving, reading, checking email etc. When you eat, sit at the table, even if it’s just for a snack. Keep mealtime conversations light and friendly and avoid heavy or controversial subjects. Arguments are not good for your digestion and won’t help your fast weight loss.
